4 ORGANIZATIONS WE ARE THANKFUL FOR
The Lion King said it best—we are part of the circle of life, and it moves us all.
Within a community, everyone plays an essential role in upholding the core structures and values that allow us to live in harmony. Every person, no matter what they do, contributes in the development of a society we should be thankful for.
We at River Oak Dental are proud to be part of our thriving community. We provide high quality dental services in Palm Bay, and work hard to ensure your smile is as bright as your happiness. And we feel very fortunate to receive as much as we give.
Thanksgiving season is an opportunity to stop and look around us, to notice the things that make our life a little bit brighter every day. As such, we would like to recognize some of the individuals and organizations that work endlessly to guarantee Palm Bay, and all of Brevard, remains an amazing community.
Take a look at some of them.
4. Brevard Humane Society.
Animals and pets are an essential part of our community, yet some remain neglected and misunderstood. Thankfully, Brevard is making a difference.
Founded in 1952, the Brevard Humane Society is the oldest animal welfare organization in the area. It has survived the test of time through caring dedication to improving the lives of animals in the county.
It focuses on short-term and long-term goals through a mix of educational programs and fieldwork. Subsequently, it provides practical, cruelty-free sheltering for the area’s abandoned animals, ensures a safe adoption process, and educates the community on how to care for our furry friends.
Best part? You can take part in this pawsitively noble goal. Get involved with the cause, or even find your new best friend.
3. Brevard Schools Foundation.
“Education is the passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to those who prepare for it today.”
Malcolm X was not the first, nor the last, to note the importance of education for society. Naturally, this means providing enough funds to guarantee a quality service for people seeking to learn.
Brevard Schools Foundation exists to ensure that people without the resources or capabilities to access top-class education do not have to renounce to their right. By filling the gaps within the educational system through regular donations, they guarantee equal opportunity access for students in Melbourne, Palm Bay, and all of Brevard.
With an annual budget that rounds over $3 million, this foundation supplies 83 public schools, 74,000 students, and 5,000 teachers. Be a part of the change by donating.
2. The Basket Brigade.
Thanksgiving is the quintessential family holiday within the United States. Sitting around a table, we express our gratitude for the blessings received, as we bask in the warmth of delicious food and family love.
Not everyone is so fortunate.
The Basket Brigade is a volunteering event dedicated to brightening Thanksgiving for families in need. By bringing food items to the location, the groups gather and put together Thanksgiving baskets, to be personally delivered to assigned families.
It’s simple, effective, charming, and fun. The Basket Brigade adds a little change to your Thanksgiving routine. One that can go a long way.
1. The Children’s Home Society.
Being a child should be a magical experience—easygoing, happy, and safe. However, sometimes reality is not as kind, and children can undergo traumatic experiences they should not ever go through.
Life is not a fairytale. Still, the Children’s Home Society might as well be a fairy godmother, extending a helping wand towards children in need.
Founded in 1902, Children’s Home Society of Florida is dedicated to providing a safe space for children in need, mainly through a reconceptualization of what it means to be in foster care.
By engaging with CHS, you can make a difference for over 60,000 children a year.
These four organizations have made marvelous changes in our communities, with remarkable effects on the daily life of the people involved.
And to be honest, those are enough reasons to smile—believe us, we’re dentists. We know about smiles.
